Subaward description

The UCLA Health Care Institute will develop a custom program for New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) to help child care providers improve the health literacy of families whose children are enrolled in their facilities. The training consists of two components. The first component will be a virtual training entitled “Engaging Families in Promoting Health Literacy.� It is estimated to target up to 100 participants, comprised of early childhood professionals who offer center-based care and early childhood coalition members. After this training, each center-based child care center will develop and submit a Health Improvement Plan to the UCLA Health Care Institute. The second component will be a virtual training entitled “Engaging Parents Through Their Children’s Health: A Training for Home Based Providers.� This virtual training is estimated to target up to 30 participants, comprised of child care providers who offer care in licensed and/or registered homes.
